"Tiny house, tiny footprint"
The collaboration between Carolien Verhagen and Growingpaper
Carolien has been living off grid in a self-built tiny house for several years. On her Instagram account, she shares all kinds of things about living in and around a tiny house. She inspires her many followers around the themes of sustainability, slow living and minimalism. People may also know Carolien from her participation in the third season of B&B vol liefde in 2023.
When we heard that Carolien wanted her tiny house on our growing paper cards, we were very excited about this. We already knew Carolien from her appearance on TV and were immediately interested in her tiny house and sustainable lifestyle. We quickly teamed up and created these beautiful cards. The cards were illustrated by Carolien's sister, Anneke.
Because Carolien shares so much of her life on social media, she finds it important to collaborate with sustainable brands so she can make a positive impact. Carolien doesn't like the consumer/disposable society, so the growing paper cards are the perfect fit. Her sister, Anneke, who illustrated the cards, can also be found on Instagram.
Why Christmas cards made of growing paper?
Sustainable and recycled: Our Christmas cards are made of 100% recycled paper, without the use of chemicals and are enriched with flower seeds. This means that no trees are cut down to produce the paper and the cards are completely biodegradable after use.
Handmade with care: The growing paper for your Christmas card is handmade in South Africa by a sheltered workshop, where we offer many people a good workplace, training and a living wage. So you are not only choosing a sustainable product, but also corporate social responsibility.
Environmentally friendly print: We use 100% biodegradable, water-based ink to print your Christmas cards. This makes our cards not only beautiful to look at, but also safe for the environment.
